LeEco Le Max 2: Another smartphone with 6GB RAM

Despite the fact that 6 gigabytes RAM on a smartphone looks pretty much like an overkill, Chinese OEMs keeps pushing it to the limit with the release of these new devices. Vernee Apollo was unveiled just a few weeks ago with 6GB of RAM, Vivo Xplay5 Elite is another similar device, and the latest entry is the just announced LeEco Le Max 2, another phone from the Chinese OEM with 6 Gig RAM.

LeEco Le Max 2 has a large 5.7-inch screen with QHD resolution (1440 x 2,560px). The device has Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 on board and comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This works behind LeEco's custom UI, EUI 5.5. How awesome.

Storage options start at 32GB and there is also a 64GB version. However, the 32GB version has 4GB RAM while the 64GB version is the king with 6GB RAM. There is a 21MP rear camera with Sony IMX230 sensor. It is equipped with optical image stabilizaton and f/2.0 aperture.

A fingerprint sensor is at the back and this device, and wow the device is powered by a 3100mAh battery capacity. USB Type-C connectivity is established on this device and you won't find the normal 3.5mm earphone jack as it has been replace by the Type C port.

LeEco also unveiled three other devices with similar design. LeEco Le 2 which is different from LeEco Le Max 2 has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080p. It comes with 3GB RAM, 16MP camera, 32GB of storage and 3000 mAh battery. It has MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor on board.

On the other hand LeEco Le 2 Pro has the overclocked Helio X25 processor, 21MP camera, 3000mAh battery, 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It also has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080p.

PRICING
LeEco Le 2 is priced at $170 and Le 2 Pro costs $230. For the base-spec Le Max 2 (4GB RAM, 32GB storage), the price is 2099 yuan ($325). However, the high-spec version (6GB RAM, 64GB storage) the price is 2499 yuan ($390). Pre-order also starts in China as at April 20.
